I am excited that a number of Blow Dry Express (BDE) clients are introducing their mothers to us as part of our Mothering Sunday promotion. While all mothers deserve special attention, hair care is different for more mature women. I recommend a completely different approach at BDE.
First, I use a clarifying shampoo to get her hair really really clean. Second, I recommend a deep conditioning treatment afterwards for each moisturising for mature women. The blow dry is different too. I like to position the angle of the blow dryer so that the hot air is going DOWN the hair shaft (from root to tip) to make hair more shiny and smooth. It is very difficult to blow dry at this angle yourself. The second challenge is sectioning the hair, which makes the styling better in the salon (vs at home). These two tricks make women’s hair looks so shiny when they leave the salon.
The Mothering Sunday Promotion is a new idea for many mums and I imagine some feel a bit self-conscious. More and better hair care is one of the easiest ways to look chic, youthful and stylish. For your mum, more frequent blow dries in a salon (like Blow Dry Express) may take a little more time, money and effort but everyone’s hairstyle is so important and you wear it everyday and it deserves your attention.
